I understand how it feels to defend your thesis. As I did it myself back in 2014. Feels like ages ago.
Excited, yet also a relief to finally be there at this position. Over the past years, you've worked hard for this moment—struggling, sweating, and maybe even shedding a tear or two. And now, the time has come!
This is the moment to show your family and friends what you’ve been working so hard on all these years. This is why you couldn’t join that festival or party because you were (re)writing your manuscripts or needed to quickly repeat that experiment.

How will your academic promotion be captured?
1.Fill in the form
Are you going to defend your research soon? Fill out the application form to see if your date is still available. Please also include your wishes so we can think together about the moments that are most valuable to you.
2.meeting prior your defense
I would like to arrange a meeting with you, which can be in person, over the phone, or digitally. During this meeting, I’d love to hear what you think is important, whether you have a layman's talk, which protocols your university follows, etc. But also, which moments need to be photographed—just the ceremony and first congratulations, or the entire day including the celebration?
3.your phd defense
On the day of your PhD defence, I will be there in time to create a calm and relaxed atmosphere. We can first take informal photos of you and your paranymphs before the defense begins. Depending on the protocol, I can take photos during the defense; if that is not possible, I will ensure that I beautifully capture the moment you receive your diploma, along with the first congratulations.
4.Delivery of your pictures
Within 10 working days, you will receive the edited photos in a digital gallery, after which I will start working on your photo book. Let me know which specific photos you would like to include so I can put together a draft. After your approval, I will order the album, which you will receive within 3 weeks—exciting!
